The Big Country CattleWomen are seeking 8 outstanding high school students to serve as Beef Ambassadors for the 2026–2027 program year.

This unique leadership program provides hands-on experiences that go far beyond the classroom. Beef Ambassadors will gain valuable knowledge of the beef industry while developing leadership, communication, and advocacy skills through real-world experiences.

Throughout the program, ambassadors will have opportunities to:

​

• Work cattle and learn cattle handling practices
• Explore artificial insemination (AI) and cattle reproduction
• Learn about cattle markets and the beef industry
• Network with ranchers, producers, veterinarians, and agricultural professionals
• Educate youth during agricultural education events
• Represent Big Country CattleWomen at community events
• Develop leadership and public speaking skills
• Become future advocates for the beef industry

Each ambassador will be paired with a dedicated Herd Mom who will mentor and encourage them throughout the year.

Our Mission

​

The mission of the Big Country CattleWomen Beef Ambassador Program is to educate, inspire, and develop the next generation of agricultural leaders through hands-on experiences, mentorship, leadership opportunities, and beef industry advocacy.

We believe the best education happens through experience. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to become lifelong advocates for agriculture while serving their communities.

Eligibility Requirements

​

Applicants must:

✔ Be 14–18 years old

✔ Be enrolled in a Texas high school or homeschool program

✔ Live or attend school in one of the following counties:

Taylor • Jones • Runnels • Nolan • Callahan • Coleman • Eastland • Stephens • Tom Green

✔ Submit:

• Completed application

• Letter of recommendation 

• Current photograph
